Many people dream of traveling the world but most never follow through and do so. The question on many people’s mind is how to travel around the world and how much will it cost. If a person really wants to have this experience it is possible to travel and have everything they need on a budget.
Who Should Try Traveling Around The World?
This is something only the individual can answer. Only in the last half century or maybe a little longer has it been practical for the average person to consider making a trip around the world. But since that option is now available it is one that can make a memory that lasts a lifetime.
Many people are born and live and experience only one country, and some, only one city. But there is so much more out there to be experienced. It is common to think that other countries and civilizations are so different than the one the person is from.
But anyone who is well traveled comes to know that for all of their differences, people are people all over the world. Having the chance to actually meet them and experience different ideas is a richness that can only be experienced by traveling to those places and meeting those people.
How To Travel Around The World On A Budget
The first thing anyone planning such a trip needs to do is their research. There are groups that provide airfare for different mileage increments. One travel pass might be for 30,000 miles and another for 40,000 miles. The smaller mileage pass could take the traveler to see several locations on three different continents. The bigger pass might take them to 5 continents.
These passes will typically allow for fifteen stops where the traveler will have 24 hours to explore the area before moving on. Flying is the most expensive type of transportation. If someone wants to fly everywhere then getting one of these passes will be the most thrifty way to travel by air.
Another option, however, would be to fly to each continent, but once there travel by other modes to various locations with-in that continent. For example, Europe and Asia have bullet trains and many cities have buses. For those traveling to the U.S.A., the greyhound bus offers a cheap way to travel the continental U.S.
Traveling by air to the continent and then using other means of transportation will not only save money but will also give the traveler more freedom to choose how long they stay in one location which gives them a better opportunity to experience life in the region and the people there.
Often there are opportunities to stay on organic farms and work for a couple weeks in exchange for free lodging and meals. In some small communities, it might be possible to rent a single bed for a few nights and eat with the family of the home.
These opportunities not only save the traveler money but gives them the chance to actually experience life in the region. Living, working and experiencing real life in the areas traveled to, gives a real sense of the area and its people. Anyone who wants this experience can have it with a little planning and research.
